Francis “Frank” Allen White Jr., 90, of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away at home, on March 4, 2014 at 9:15a.m.

    

Born on April 29, 1923 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Francis Allen White Sr. and Birdie Mary Washington White. He graduated from Burlington High School and attended various military leadership schools while in the Navy.

 

He married Blondia E. Bailey on June 15, 1965 in Waukegan, Illinois.

    

Frank retired from the U.S. Navy with an honorary discharge at San Diego, California, in 1972 with 20 plus years of service to his country. He was stationed at various locations both stateside and overseas. Following his Navy retirement he returned to his home in Waukegan, Illinois. He then worked for, and retired from Baxter Travenol Laboratories in Round Lake, Illinois. Frank was an advent bowler and enjoyed spending time with his grand-children and great grand-children.  After 48 years of calling Waukegan home, he moved to Locust Grove, Georgia to be close to his family.

 

He was a member of St. Johns A.M.E. Church.

 

He is survived by his wife, Blondia; three daughters, Yvette White Silver of Aurora, Colorado, Frances White Donner of McDonough, Georgia and Junetta “Bebe”  White Carpenter of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three granddaughters, Monica White of Woodbridge, Virginia, Shannon White of Smyrna, Georgia and Denise (Robert) Scott of Aurora, Colorado; four grandsons, Anthony (Natalie) White of  Bonaire, Georgia, Jensen (Carol Ann) Silver of Aurora, Colorado, Dwayne (Misty) Carpenter of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jason (Juanita) Carpenter of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Richard White of Chicago, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

    

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

    

Funeral services for Francis Allen White Jr. will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 115 S. Central, Burlington, Iowa. Pastor Lawrence Manson will officiate.  Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard.

Vivian Delores Wilkins, 43, of Burlington, Iowa died at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa, on Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

    

Born on January 11, 1971 in Buffalo, New York, she was the daughter of Haywood Love Jr. and Bertha Hunter.

 

Vivian graduated from Burlington High School in 1989. She married Paul Wilkins in 1990 in Burlington, Iowa, they later divorced. Vivian was a member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ and loved to listen to Christian music.

 

She is survived by one son, Paul Wilkins Jr. of Burlington, Iowa; three daughters, Ciera Wilkins of Burlington, Iowa, Yasmeen Tish and Tamia Tish, both at home; her mother, Bertha Brown of Burlington, Iowa; her father, Haywood Love Jr. of Buffalo, New York; two sisters, Terah Hunter of Burlington, Iowa and Kasey Brown of West Burlington, Iowa; two brothers, Robert Clark of Atlanta, Georgia and Dominique Peterson of Burlington, Iowa; paternal grandfather, Norford Hunter of Buffalo, New York; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews including local aunts and uncles, Fred (Vivienne) Starling of Burlington, Iowa, Jesse Starling of Burlington, Iowa, Bernard Hunter of Buffalo, New York and Jerry Hunter of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

    

She was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Geneva Starling

    

Funeral services for Vivian Delores Wilkins will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, Burlington, Iowa. Pastor Fred Starling will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

   

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior the service. A memorial has been established for the children of Vivian Wilkins. Condolences may be left at www.prughfuneralservice.com.

Julius Vester, of Burlington, Iowa, infant son of Chrystal and Jacob Ray Vester Sr. died at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa on Saturday, March 8, 2014.

    

Julius is survived by his parents, Jacob and Chrystal; one brother, Jacob Ray Vester Jr. at home; two sisters, Alecia Grace Vester and Alyvia Hope Vester, both of Monmouth, Illinois; maternal grandfather, Thomas Sappington of New Windsor, Illinois; paternal grandmother, Ruth Ann Guajardo of Burlington, Iowa; paternal grandfather, Ray Irvin; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

    

He was preceded in death by one uncle, Timothy S. Sappington and one aunt, Mercedes Guadardo.

    

A memorial service for Julius Vester will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Prugh’s Chapel. Pastor JudyAnn Morse will officiate.
