Peggy Lynn Edwards, age 56 of Carman, Illinois died at 10:40 a.m. Thursday March 27, 2014 at University Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born September 18, 1957 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Eugene and Pauline Bessie Johnson Talbott. On October 14, 2000, she married David Edwards in Carman, Illinois.
Peggy was raised and educated in LaHarpe, and graduated from LaHarpe High School. She was formerly employed at Methode Electronics, Inc. in Carthage, Illinois for seventeen years. Peggy was an outstanding cook, and was a big fan of Paula Dean. She loved animals, and especially loved her five nieces and nephews. She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her husband, one stepson, Jesse Edwards of Gladstone, IL., one brother, Larry (Sherry) Talbott, of Blandinsville, IL., two nieces, Emily Schaley and Elizabeth Talbott, and three nephews, Brad Mowen, Robert and Daniel Talbott. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert Talbott Jr, and Melvin Talbott, and one sister, Nadine Mowen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday March 31, 2014 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.
Interment will be in the Biggsville Cemetery, Biggsville, Illinois, at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for the Humane Society. Condolences may be left at banksandbeals.com.
