Des Moines County’s Democratic party faithful got a chance yesterday(Sat) to meet and listen to the man and woman at the top of the ticket.
State Senator Jack Hatch told a crowd at the new Democratic headquarters…across from The Hungry Bear…that the party has an opportunity to take back the Governor’s office from Terry Branstad, who’s seeking his 6th term.
Hatch’s running mate is Monica Vernon…who was elected to the Cedar Rapids city Council six months before the flood of 2008. Vernon also addressed a crowd of Lee County Democrats at a dinner in Ft. Madison.
