Burlington Police Locate SUV Connected to Monday Shooting Death

The Burlington Police Department has located a vehicle they say is linked to the Monday afternoon daylight shooting of 24 year old Deonte Carter.

A BPD news release credits community tips made through Facebook, Crime Stoppers, and over the phone for the discovery. The black SUV located on Saturday was seen speeding away from the scene of Monday’s shooting.

Police believe Carter may have been shot after a disagreement over a pair of shoes.

University of Iowa Autopsy results indicate that Carter died following multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.

The case is being handled by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation with assistance from the Burlington Police Department.

No arrests have been announced.
