Michele Rae Box Garrett, 54, of Burlington, died at 6:40 PM Monday, April 18, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
Born December 21, 1961, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Edward Joseph and Sally Rae Lewis Box.
Michele was a cashier.
She was a 1980 graduate of Notre Dame High School.
She enjoyed playing computer games and being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her parents, Ed & Sally Box of Burlington; one son, Taylor Garrett of Burlington; two daughters, Christie (Tyson) Steele of Burlington; and Rachel (Onassis) Camacho of Moline, IL; six grandchildren, Tristan Hensley-Lock, Brendan Hensley-Hand, Jameson Hensley, Jordan Bellmyer, Tahlia Camacho, and Ivy Camacho due any day; two brothers, Michael (Marilyn) Box of Burlington, and Mark (Susan) Box of Ft. Collins, CO; one sister, Melinda (Glenn) Spiker of Burlington and several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Hensley and her grandparents.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, April 22, 2016, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home & Crematory.
The graveside committal service for Michele will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Rev. Father Marty Goetz officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home & Crematory following the inurnment.
A memorial has been established to Great River Hospice.

Geraldine M. Roasa, 94, Burlington died Mon 4/18 at Bickford Cottage.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis, a daughter Jackie Nelson of Burlington, a brother, Donal Allendorf of Bakersfield, CA, 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons.
Graveside funeral service will be at 1115 AM Fri 4/22 at Aspen Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 8-5 Thu 4/21 at Lunning Chapel and at 10-11 AM on Friday at Lunnings.
