Ethel Mae Devore, age 88, formerly of Wapello, died Wednesday April 20, 2016 at the Lutheran Home in Muscatine. She was born July 13, 1927 at Iowa City. On February 28, 1947 she married George Devore in Columbus Junction; he died August 25, 2008. She worked at Lehigh Leopold in Burlington for many years.
Survivors include: two sons, Scott and Sandy Devore of Letts; Dan Devore of Wapello; one daughter Patricia Reimers of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; her twin sister Edith Mills of Muscatine;
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons.
Cremation has been accorded. There will be a private family graveside at the Wapello Cemetery. A luncheon for family and friends will be held Sunday April 24, at 11:30 a.m. at the Corner Market in Wapello. A general memorial has been established in her name. Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello is in charge of the arrangements.
Pauline Bennett, 94, Burlington died Tue 4/19 at the Great River Hospice House.
She is survived by a son Randy of Burlington, a daughter, Nancy Bennett of Huntsville, AL, a sister, Pat Selleck of Sacramento, CA, 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 PM on Sat 4/23 at Lunning Chapel with the family receiving friends from 5-7 PM Fri 4/22 at Lunnings.
Burial in the Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery
