Five Burlington elementary schools are set to benefit after receiving a $25,000 gift celebrating a CNH Industrial anniversary milestone.
KWQC-TV reports CNH Industrial’s brands Case IH and CASE Construction Equipment are celebrating their 175th anniversary. To commemorate that, company representatives, school district officials, staff, and students gathered at Sunnyside Elementary school on Friday morning, April 21, 2017 for the grant acceptance event.
The company donated $25,000 to Burlington and six other communities for science, technology, education and math (STEM) related education resources, for a total of $175,000
Officials with the Burlington Community School District say they’ll use the grant to fund the development of makerspaces in the districts’ five elementary schools. A makerspace is a work area used for collaborative learning, working, and building usually associated with technology-enabled fields such as engineering, computer science and design.
