In prep soccer action last night, the Burlington High School girl’s soccer team beat Davenport West, 10-0. Holy Trinity beat Mid-Prairie 8-2. Highland beat the Central Lee boys team 2-1.
The Burlington Bees fell again at home to South Bend, 9-0. They’ll face South Bend again this morning.
The St. Louis Cardinals beat Miami 6-5. the Chicago Cubs split a doubleheader with Colorado, losing 10-4 and winning 8-1. The Kansas City Royals beat Tampa Bay 7-6.
The Missouri Valley Conference has invited Valparaiso to join the conference to fill the gap left by Wichita State. It’s not clear whether or not they’ll accept. Valpo’s football team is not expected to join the Conference.
