The Fort Madison volleyball team fell in a sweep to Xavier to have their season end at 25-8.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 6-2 after Travis Kelce (KEH’-see) caught seven passes for 133 yards and a touchdown in a 29-19 win over Denver. The Bears say tight end Zach Miller had “urgent” surgery to repair an artery in his left leg after suffering a gruesome injury in Sunday’s loss at New Orleans, there was some initial concern that Miller could have lost his limb.

Chicago Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic has decided not to have surgery to repair the broken bones in his face. Mirotic suffered several broken bones as well as a concussion when he got into a fight with teammate Bobby Portis during practice on Oct. 17.

In the NHL, Vladimir Tarasenko and Jaden Schwartz each had a goal and an assist to lead the Blues to a 4-2 victory over the Kings.
