Eight Month “Operation Iced Out” Investigation Leads To Arrests

An eight month long investigation by federal authorities in McDonough County, Knox County, Warren County, Henderson County, Mercer County, Fulton County, Hancock County, and Burlington, Iowa.  has culminated in several arrests.

“Operation Iced Out” was conducted by the Macomb/McDonough County Drug Unit and led to the arrest of a Lomax, Illinois woman, Cynthia Huss and Cherie Willits from Burlington on January 23rd.   McDonough County Sheriff Nicholas Petitgout and Macomb Police Chief Curt Barker say that four other individual have been arrested in the sting.  33-year-old Dinara Lewis from Brooklyn, Illinois, 35-year-old Mathew Lewis from Rushville, Illinois, 46-year-old Marcia Shafer from Burlington, Iowa and 44-year old Michael Snodgrass from Macomb, Illinois have been arrested for possessing or delivering methamphetamine.

Petitgout says that as a result of the investigation, law enforcement seized over two pounds of methamphetamine and multiple firearms. Investigators also learned that approximately 50 pounds of methamphetamine a month was being distributed throughout the seven west central Illinois counties.
