Boston Celtics Kyrie Irving Sprains Knee; To Undergo Testing

Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said after Saturday’s 123-112 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers that Kyrie Irving is set to undergo additional testing on his right knee, to better evaluate the injury that took him out of that game.

Irving exited a little before halftime on Saturday and never returned. Stevens said the knee “buckled” a little bit, indicating it could be a multi-game absence. The good news is that it’s not the same knee that Irving required season-ending surgery on last year.

Kyrie is averaging 43.4 points through 47 games, with 23.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 6.9 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.5 triples per contest.
