A trial date of April 30th has been set for 18-year-old Kaylee Wilson, who is accused of killing Mallery Doak in January. Wilson’s attorney, Scott Schroeder, says she’ll be claiming self-defense in the stabbing. He also said he could file a Stand Your Ground Defense as the incident happened at the house where Wilson lived with her mother on Garfield Street.
Wilson appeared at a bond reduction hearing on Monday, her attorney asked for a reduction to a “modest bond” and asked the court to allow cash or surety. The state resisted that motion citing the severity of murder charges. A judgement has yet to be filed on the motion, but is expected this week.
Wilson is due back in court for a pretrial conference on April 8th.
