Pool Bubble Still Delayed

The bubble over Dankwardt Pool is still up in the air.

Last week, it was revealed that the baby pool and main pool are on the same system and must be separated if any major work were to occur. Last week the cost was unknown but City Parks and Development Director Eric Tysland said Monday the cost is $150,000. Money the South East Iowa Swim Club does not have.

However, there is another option that could save the pool bubble. That option involves closing the baby pool. City Council Members have mixed opinions. They did give the swim club approval to submit the plan to close the kiddie pool to the Iowa Department of Public Health before they make a final decision.
