Burlington, Ia- The Burlington City Council will be hosting its second open public forum This evening at 5:30 P.M. The Discussion item for this event will be crime in the city of Burlington.
The cities first open forum on crime was held in response to a recent wave of violent crime, and a surge of public outcry for the city to come up with a solution. The City then decided to get the input of the public on the issue with an open forum, and it proved to be a success. The council was pleased that they found a way to effectively communicate with the public on the issue and possibly could extend it to include other discussion topics. Thus, the public forum is coming back, and may still become a regular event.
The forum will be held at the LOFT on Jefferson Street at 5:30 PM
