Keokuk man accused of murder chooses bench trial over jury trial

Keokuk, Ia (KHQA)- A Keokuk man accused of murder has elected a bench trial instead of a jury trial in court on Tuesday.

25-year-old Adam McCain of Keokuk is currently charged with Murder in the First Degree for the February death of  24-year-old Calove Sackman.

McCain elected to waive his right to a jury trial on Tuesday.

The Pen City Current reports, District 8B Chief Judge Mary Ann Brown informed the potential jurors that they were released prior to Wednesday’s trial.
