Obituaries Friday February 28th

Margaret Dorothy Johnson Hardy Schupick was born (at home) in Mediapolis, IA to Francis Victor Emmanuel Johnson and Gerda Christina (Sanders) Johnson on March 19, 1926.
She went to a country school in the Ordnance Plant area through 8th grade and graduated from Burlington High School in 1943. She married Lee R. Hardy in 1945. He passed away October 12, 1983. In January 1991 she married Paul J. Schupick. He passed away December 10, 2001.
She was a homemaker working part-time at J.S. Schramm Co. and Kardans. She was a Realtor Associate for her husband Hardy Real Estate for 7 years. She then worked at I.A.A.P until her retirement in 1992.
She was a lifetime member of Messiah Lutheran Church and Ruth Circle. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Club and a former Elk’s member.
She is survived by sons, Steven R. (Debi) Hardy of Burlington, Chad J. (Christina) Hardy of Richfield, Minnesota; two daughters, Lori L. (Robert) Bruce of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Susan C. Rademacher of Bloomington, Minnesota; half sister-in-law Eileen (Ed) Pickard of Fairfield, Iowa; half brother-in-law Marvin Hardy of Wapello, Iowa.
Also surviving are step-sons, Tim (Denise) Schupick of Mason City, Iowa, Doug (Eleanor) Schupick of Burlington, Iowa; step-daughter Julie (Bob) Setterberg of West Point, Iowa; son-in-law Jim Scudder of Burlington.
She has 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Her greatest love was her family and extended family plus many very special friends. She did a lot of baking—angel food cakes, pies and cookies which she freely gave out. In her younger years she did a lot of sewing and designing dresses for her and her daughters. Dancing was very important to her.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husbands Lee Hardy and Paul Schupick, brothers Lloyd (Mary Lou) Johnson, Dale (Ethel) Johnson, sister, Linnea Manlove, nephews Lynn Decker and Gary Johnson, niece LuAnn Clark and step-daughter Paula Scudder.
The memorial funeral service for Mrs. Schupick will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1st at Messiah Lutheran Church. The Rev. Susanne Smith will officiate. Inurnment will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Messiah Lutheran Church and the American Cancer Society for Lung Cancer research.
According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.

Earl Davis, Jr., 89, of New London, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Henry County Health Center, Mt. Pleasant.
According to his wishes his body has been cremated and formal services will be held at a later date at Elliott Chapel, New London. Inurnment will be held in Burge Cemetery. Linda J. Wolford, 79, of Burlington, died at 9:14 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Great River Klein Center.
Born February 8, 1941 in Washington, she was the daughter of Virgil D. and Vivian J. (Frey) Good. She married Darwin Wolford on February 7, 1960 in Burlington, IA.
Linda graduated in 1959 from Burlington High School. She lived in Morning Sun for 25 years before moving to Burlington. She worked at Service Master by Callahans of Morning Sun for 10 years, and in the office at Burlington Waterworks for 8 years, until her retirement in 2007.
Linda was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Morning Sun for many years.
She belonged to the Morning Sun Lioness Club for several years. She greatly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Some of her pastimes included watching their ballgames, butterflies, hummingbirds, cookbooks, recipes, and Nascar races. She was also a sports fan, enjoying Burlington Bees baseball games, Chicago Cubs, and Iowa Hawkeyes basketball and football. She had a particular fondness for Sterzings, Pepsi, and chocolate ice cream.
Survivors include her husband Darwin Wolford of Burlington; three children, Darlene “Kay” (Richard) Bliesener of Burlington, Dustin (Jacque) Wolford, and Laura (Matt) Mangold both of Wapello, IA; seven grandchildren, Krystal, Kirstin, Cody, Cory, Richie, Tatum, and Cohen; five great-grandchildren, Kharisma, Kaleb, Kaiya, Phaedra, and Zaida; one sister, Judith Orth of Burlington; and three brothers, Philip Good, Steven Good, and Dwain Good, all of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Thomas Good.
There will be no formal visitation or service.
Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
A memorial has been established.

Retha Mae Wellington, 73, of Burlington, died Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Great River Medical Center.
Born November 2, 1946 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Floyd and Frances (Duke) Lewis. She married Lloyd Eugene Wellington Sr. April 10, 1966. He died February 18, 2014.
Retha graduated from Burlington High School. She worked as a homemaker.
She attended services at Light of Life Tabernacle in Oquawka.
She enjoyed shopping, camping, and cookouts.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances L. (David Lindgren) Wellington of Burlington; one grandchild; a brother, Jimmy Lewis of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Sharon Knutson of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; and two brothers, Floyd Lewis and Lyle Lewis.
There are no services planned at this time for Mrs. Wellington.
According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
