Burlington woman dies from fire-related injuries

Burlington, Ia-  A Burlington woman has passed away due to injuries sustained during a house fire.

On Friday, 65 year old Patricia Gray was treated at the scene of a fire at her home at 1527 Grove Street in Burlington.

She was then taken to Great River Medical Center, and later to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City where she died Saturday.  Her cause of death was determined as smoke inhalation.

According to Fire Marshall Mark Crooks, fire investigators have determined an area of origin for the fire but the cause is undetermined.

The fire is not considered suspicious, but it was discovered that the home did not have working smoke alarms.

3 dogs also died as a result of the fire.
