Des Moines, Ia- The Test Iowa program was introduced just over 3 weeks ago, and Governor Reynolds says it has helped accomplish a critical step to fighting COVID-19.

“The State Hygienic Lab completed the Test Iowa validation process yesterday,” Reynolds said, “Achieving high ratings of 95% accuracy for determining positives and 99.7% accuracy for determining negatives.”

To those Iowa citizens who have complained about delays in their test results, Reynolds said: “we hear you.”

The state will be setting up a Test Iowa call center to handle questions and resolve issues. It appears about 300 Test Iowa results are pending.

More than 400-thousand Iowans have completed assessments through the Test Iowa website, with 43-hundred getting tested. The governor says validation will mean the system can be ramped up, with more tests can be done more quickly, with more timely results. With the addition of the new site in Storm lake, there are now 8 Test Iowa sites in various parts of the state.
