Des Moines, Ia (KCCI)-  The next federal stimulus payments are arriving in the mail, but the Iowa Attorney General’s Office is warning not to expect a check.

KCCI TV reports that the federal government is sending out pre-paid Visa debit cards for those who have not received their stimulus checks yet. While that’s good news for people who haven’t received their money, it’s also causing confusion.

If you get a card in the mail, the envelope will say “money Network Cardholder Services.” Inside you’ll find a letter with the Department of Treasury’s seal on it, and inside that, you’ll find a debit card.

Lynn Hicks with the Iowa Attorney General’s Office said the debit cards are legitimate and safe, but he expects scammers will take advantage of this new wave of payments.

The letter has a link to a safe website where you can access your full stimulus payment, and can even transfer the money directly into your bank account.
