Citizens from the Burlington Area will gather at 6 pm on Tuesday, June 2nd, downtown for a peaceful protest and vigil sparked from the media coverage on the recent Minneapolis Citizen’s Death, George Floyd, an African-American/black man who had died while in the custody of a White Minneapolis Police officer, Derek Chauvin. The protest will commence just outside of the Burlington Police Department where protesters will speak against police brutality. After the protest, citizens will make their way to a peaceful candle-lit vigil at the riverfront. For those who wish to speak at the event or to get more information about this event are encouraged to contact Tenyshia Chalupa via Facebook.
