Man arrested after police chase

Burlington, Ia- At approximately 8:50 PM Sunday a Des Moines County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for multiple traffic violations at Curran and Agency Street in Burlington.

The Driver, Zachary Judd, failed to stop his vehicle and attempted to elude the Deputy.

Following a brief chase, Judd abandoned his vehicle in the 500 block of S. Garfield and fled on foot.  Judd was apprehended in the 500 block of S. Marshall.

It was determined that Judd had caused property damage to multiple fences with his vehicle, and cause a deputy a minor injury during a struggle.

Judd was arrested for Felony Eluding, 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief, Interference with Official Acts Causing Injury, 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine and Marijuana), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Barred, and Driving Without Insurance. Judd was taken to the Des Moines County Jail and is being held with a $5,000 Bond.
