Great River Health cuts management positions

West Burlington, Ia- Great River Health Systems has reportedly cut multiple management positions from its staff at facilities in West Burlington and Fort Madison Wednesday.

The Hawk Eye reports that this was done in an effort to make up millions in revenue loss.

An anonymous person familiar with the situation told the paper that 30 people were let go Wednesday, including clinic and hospital managers, and a clinic supervisor.

GRH had been on target to reduce losses from this past fiscal year, but the COVID-19 pandemic put a hold on their progress.

Due to this, hospitals scaled back their health services, and as a result, GRH has seen a loss of over $21 million over the last 3 months.

Some relief aid has been made available to the facility, but even with over $17 million in relief funds, it won’t be enough to completely cover their losses.
