Hancock Co., Il- A Hancock County man has been convicted and sentenced to over 40 years in prison.
43-year old Robert Dowell of Niota plead guilty to one count of Predatory Sexual Assault of a Child and was given 45 years in prison, with a mandatory service of 85 percent.
In September of 2019, an investigation was conducted by the Hancock, Lee, and Des Moines County Sheriff’s Offices, which resulted in charges filed against Dowell in both Iowa and Illinois.
Dowell is currently serving a sentence in the Iowa Department of Corrections in relation to this same investigation.
