Carthage, Ill- The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Carthage Illinois Man on drug-related charges.
On Thursday a Hancock County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on US Highway 136 near County Road 1100 east. The Driver was identified as 50-Year-old Jeffrey Schofield of Carthage Illinois.
Schofield was taken into custody for driving without a license. A search of the vehicle resulted in the finding of money, a scale, drug paraphernalia, plastic bags, marijuana, and 15.5 grams of methamphetamine.
Schofield was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Deliver, and Driving Without a Valid License.
Schofield is being held in the Hancock County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
