School Boards to discuss re-opening

Burlington, Ia- The Burlington and West Burlington School Boards will meet this week to discuss plans for re-opening this fall.

Both boards voted last week to delay the opening of school until August 31st due to a surge in COVID-19 cases in Des Moines County. The County’s 14-day positivity rate peaked at 15.3%.

According to the latest data on the states coronavirus tracking website, the current 14-day positivity average is 14.6%.

The Burlington School Board will meet on both Monday and Wednesday to determine plans for re-opening school next week. The West Burlington School Board will meet on Wednesday as well.
