Burlington, Ia- The Burlington City Council on Monday approved a plan for the redevelopment of the riverfront, Main street, and Jefferson Street.

According to the two design firms hired for the project, it will cost about $22 million dollars or less, with much of that being paid for by the federal TIGER grant.

The project will improve parking, foot traffic, and drainage as well as several aesthetic improvements to both Jefferson and Main Streets, as well as the riverfront.
