Burlington, Ia- Burlington City Manager Jim Ferneau is leaving his position.
The city announced on Friday that Ferneau will be leaving his position on October 2nd to pursue other opportunities.
At the request of the City Council and City staff, Ferneau has agreed to remain in his position temporarily as an independent contractor in order to assist the City with its upcoming budget and its transition to a new City Manager.
The City will hire a search firm to assist the Council in locating a pool of qualified applicants.
