State alters quarantine rules for those exposed to COVID-19

Des Moines, Ia- Iowa Health officials have made slight changes to quarantine guidelines for those who have been exposed to COVID-19.

During a news conference Tuesday, Dr. Caitlin Pedati explained that “For non-healthcare, nonresidential settings, individuals who when the case and close contact have been wearing a face-covering consistently and correctly the entire time will not have to self-quarantine at home. ”

Those who have been exposed should still be on the lookout for symptoms.

As of Tuesday, Iowa has seen a total of 84,413 positive cases and 1,325 deaths since the pandemic began.
