Positive COVID-19 cases continue to increase

Des Moines, Ia-  The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Iowa continues to rise.

According to the latest data on the state’s coronavirus tracking website, on Thursday, the state reported a total of 102,904 positive cases in the state since the pandemic began.

In RMCC Region 5, 92 people have been hospitalized with 15 admitted in the last 24 hours and 28 people in ICUs, and 12 on ventilators.

In Des Moines County 48 positive tests were reported Wednesday, bringing the total number of positive cases in the county to 1,081 since the start of the pandemic.

As of Thursday, Des Moines county showed a 14-day positivity average of 12.0%.  Henry county showed the highest 14-day positivity average in Southeast Iowa with 12.8%.
