Hamilton, Il man arrested on multiple charges

Hamilton, Il.-  A Hamilton Illinois man has been arrested on multiple charges of possession of drugs and illegal firearms.

According to Hamilton Police, on Tuesday, October 20th, Hamilton police, and Hancock County Sherriff’s Deputies responded to the residence of 44-year-old Stacy Lunt near Highway 96 and Lakeview Avenue in Hamilton.

Upon arrival at the residence, the responding officers located several firearms, some of which were loaded.  A brief investigation was conducted, resulting in the confirmation that Lunt’s FOID card was revoked.  Lunt was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Firearms at that time.  During the investigation, evidence was also observed that indicated that a shotgun slug had been fired through a wall in the residence.  Lunt was transported to and housed at the Hancock County Jail.

A search warrant was requested and obtained for the residence.  At the outcome of the execution of the investigation and search warrant multiple firearms, several hundred rounds of ammunition, methamphetamine, and controlled substances were located inside of the residence and seized.  Additionally, evidence indicated that various firearms had been discharged inside of the residence a total of nine times that morning.

Lunt was charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine; three counts of Unlawful Possession of Firearms; two counts of Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition Without Requisite Firearm Owner’s Identification Card.

On Friday, October 23, 2020, Lunt was released from the Hancock County Jail on recognizance; no bond was required to be posted.
