Burlington, Ia (The Beacon)-  Burlington schools are not planning to move to online learning despite rising COVID-19 cases.

The Burlington Beacon reports that School Board officials are keeping the option of 100% online learning available, however, the county’s COVID positivity rate isn’t high enough to make the transition.

West Burlington Schools transitioned to online learning on Monday after approval was granted on Oct. 23rd, and they will remain that way for the next two weeks.

As of Thursday morning, Des Moines county showed a 14-day positivity average of 15.3%, with a total of 1,496 positive cases since the start of the pandemic.
