Illinois man arrested in connection with Burlington shooting

Burlington, Ia-  The Burlington Police department has announced the arrest of an Illinois man in connection with a Friday night shooting that injured one person.

According to police, officers responded to a shots fired call at approximately 7 PM Friday in the 1200 block of Agency Street.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered one person with a lower extremity gunshot wound.  They were transported to Great-River Medical Center by a Burlington Fire Department ambulance.  Their injury is believed to be non-life-threatening.

During the investigation of the scene, a suspect was identified and arrested.

20-year-old Paul McGriff of Carmen, Illinois was charged with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon and is currently being held at Des Moines County Jail pending a court appearance.
