Obituaries for Tuesday December 29th

Helen Jean Baker, 92, of Wheeling, IL, formerly of Burlington, IA died Saturday morning, December 26, 2020, at the Addolorata Villa in Wheeling, IL.

Born July 15, 1928, in Lovilia, IA, she was the daughter of James and Irene Roberts Bunch. On September 4, 1949, she married Clarence F. Baker in Des Moines, IA. He died on October 4, 2005, after 56 years of marriage.

Helen worked in the business office for S.C.C. for many years, retiring in 1987.

She was of the protestant faith. She enjoyed quilting and volunteered to make baby quilts for Zion United Church of Christ when she was living in Burlington. Helen also enjoyed cooking, gardening and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise (Bill) Wozencraft of Arlington Heights, IL,4 grandchildren, Scott Wozencraft of Chicago, IL, Beth Wozencraft of Arlington Heights, IL, Jeff Wozencraft of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mary Wozencraft of Palatine, IL, 2 sisters, Ruth Belzer of Albia, IA and Carol (Jerry) Belzer of Lawrence, KS, a sister-in-law, Barb Bunch of Des Moines, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, George and Walter Bunch, sister, Dorothy Cotter and 2 brothers-in-law, Harold Belzer and John Cotter.

The Graveside Committal Service for Mrs. Baker will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Pastor Dean Graber officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Addolorata Villa (www.addoloratavilla.com).
