West Burlington, Ia- The West Burlington Flea Market will not be taking place this year.
Event organizers announced on social media that the Flea Market will not be returning in 2021. The cancellation is due to the risk surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
While organizers say that future markets will likely take place, there are no plans for a market this year.
The post states, “With the onset of COVID in 2020 the market was closed due to the fact that the property was being used by the Government for COVID. Then there were the restrictions on the size of gatherings and on and on. Now with the risk of it all happening again and the liability we would incur by having it, (anyone claiming to of been infected at the market can file suit) the risk is not worth it.”
The market is usually held between April and September at Southeastern Community College.
