Burlington, Ia- The Burlington School Board has approved the sale of a piece of land to the City of Burlington.
The Hawk Eye reports that the board approved a resolution to sell 4.56 acres of land east of the former James Madison Middle School to the city in exchange for $50,000 in stormwater utility credits.
The city will use the land to build a retention pond for stormwater, while the school will feed the credits into their general fund to be used for various expenses.
