Des Moines, Ia-  A bill in the Iowa Senate, if passed could ban the use of speed cameras in Iowa.

TV station KCCI reports that the bill would require both speed and light cameras to be taken down by July 1st.  The bill has failed multiple times in the Iowa senate.

Iowa 20th district senator Brad Zaun introduced the bill and said that vehicle owners can be ticketed due to someone else speeding.

Others argue that speed cameras make the roads safer and that they bring in large sums for local governments.
