Man arrested in connection with Fort Madison Shooting

Fort Madison, Ia-  Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a Fort Madison shooting that injured one person.

Fort Madison Police Chief Mark Rohloff told the Pen City Current that police were called at 12:01 PM Saturday to the 2600 block of Avenue I after a man was shot due to an escalating fistfight.

The victim, 19-year-old Zachariah J. Raines was taken by helicopter to Iowa City with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

19-year-old Wade Lee Shaffer of Fort Madison was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and reckless use of a firearm causing injury.  He is being held at the Lee County Jail pending a court appearance.
