Burlington woman arrested for domestic abuse

Burlington, IA- Authorities have announced the arrest of a Burlington woman on domestic abuse charges.

On Friday, June 11th, 2021, at about 2:07 AM, Deputies with the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 11598 Woody Lane in rural West Burlington in reference to an assault.

Once they arrived deputies spoke to the victim, Chip McPherson, who lives at that address.  McPherson told deputies that 44-year-old Kimberly Maxine Lutz had punched him several times in the face, then grabbed a knife and was attempting to kill him.

Deputies also spoke to Lutz, who confirmed that she had hit McPherson several times, then grabbed a knife and chased him around the house. Lutz stated that this was because she believed McPherson was attempting to cook one of her puppies.

Lutz was ultimately arrested for Aggravated Domestic Abuse Assault and taken to the Des Moines County Jail with no bond.
