Burlington man arrested on Drug Charges

Burlington, IA- The Burlington Police Department has announced the arrest of a man on multiple drug-related charges.

Over the course of several months, detectives with the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force have been following up on information regarding a suspect believed to be trafficking drugs in the Burlington area.

On Monday, June 21st, 2021, the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force along with the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, the Burlington Police Department, and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant on a residence in the 12,000 block of 90th Avenue.

As a result of the warrant, 63-year-old Timothy A. Weyls Sr. of Burlington (above) was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, two counts of Drug Tax Stamp Violation, and Maintaining a Drug House.

Weyls is being held at the Des Moines County Jail pending a court appearance.  Authorities say this investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
