Burlington, IA-  The Burlington School board on Monday approved the sale of property to the nonprofit Hope Haven Area Development Center.

The Hawk Eye reports that Hope Haven will pay $62,000 for two lots at Sequoia Drive and Willow Avenue.  The money will be put towards the districts Physical Plant and Equipment Levy.

Hope Haven plans to use the combined lots to build a home and community-based services waiver home, similar to the ones operated on Weimer Street and Lane Drive.

The sale was passed by the board nearly unanimously.  Two members of the board elected to abstain from the vote.
