Dallas City Sailor killed at Pearl Harbor accounted for

Washington (WREX) — A man from Dallas City, Illinois, who was killed serving in World War II has been accounted for almost eighty years after his death.

WREX reports the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced Thursday that Navy Fireman 1st Class Robert J. Harr, 25, of Dallas City, Illinois, killed during World War II, was accounted for on Feb. 12, 2021.

Harr, who was assigned to the battleship USS Oklahoma, was on the ship when it had been moored at Pearl Harbor when the ship was attacked by Japanese aircraft.

Harr will be buried on Aug. 14, 2021, in Rutledge, Missouri.
