Mount Pleasant woman arrested for domestic abuse

Burlington, IA-  The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Mt. Pleasant woman on domestic violence charges.

According to a police report, on Thursday, July 1st, at about 3:15 PM, deputies with the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the intersection of Walnut St. and Iowa St. in Middletown for a fight.

Once deputies arrived, they were advised that the fight was between 18-year-old Addison Rena Kelley of Mount Pleasant and her boyfriend, and had taken place in the 300 block of Boundary Ave.

Deputies were advised by the victim that he was sitting in a vehicle and Kelley was standing by the vehicle and they were arguing. He advised Kelley then reached into the vehicle and attempted to pull him out of the vehicle by his hair. Both individuals then drove to Middletown Park and continued arguing. While at the park, Kelley pulled the victim to the ground by his hair.

Deputies placed Kelley under arrest for serious domestic abuse assault.  She was transported to the Des Moines County Jail without bond.
