Burlington, IA- Des Moines County Public health will be expanding its hours in hopes of expanding vaccine efforts.
The Hawk Eye reports that Public Health will now be staying open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 AM until 6:30 PM on a trial basis this week. They will also test these hours on July 20th and 21st.
Public Health Director Christa Poggemiller said that she hopes this will aid in COVID vaccination efforts as well as childhood vaccinations.
Residents will need to go to the Public Health Building rather than SCC if they are in need of a COVID test, due to the statewide closing of Test Iowa sites.
