Burlington, IA- The Burlington community school district will start classes this week, with students masked.
The Burlington Community School Board on Friday, September 17th, voted 4 to 2 to impose a mask mandate in an effort to protect students from rising COVID-19 cases.
Under the new policy, masks must be worn by students, visitors, and staff in indoor school facilities and on busses at all times, with some exceptions.
A federal judge on Monday, September 13th, blocked an Iowa law banning mask mandates in school, and multiple school districts in Iowa have re-implemented such mandates.
