Burlington woman arrested for OWI

Burlington, IA-  The Des Moines County Sheriff’s office has announced the arrest of a Burlington woman for Operating while Intoxicated.

On Sunday, September 26th, 2021, at about 3:15 AM a Des Moines County Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on US Highway 34 and Roosevelt Avenue.

While speaking to the driver, 23-year-old Michealah Rachelle Hartman of Burlington, the deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Hartman and she said she had been drinking.

Hartman failed the standard field sobriety tests and gave a breath sample over the legal limit.

Hartman was arrested and taken to the Des Moines County Jail, where she was charged with Operating While Intoxicated and given a $1000 bond.
