Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Sheriff’s office has announced the arrest of a Burlington woman for assault.
According to a news release, on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021, Des Moines County deputies responded to Sundown Place Apartments north of Burlington for a report of a woman threatening a man with a knife.
Once on scene, deputies learned from the victim that 23 year old Cynthia Acton of Burlington had come to his house and began to yell and act abnormally. She then grabbed a folding knife and began to attack the victim.
The victim, whose name was not released, sustained several cuts to his hand before he was able to disarm Acton.
Acton was located in the Burlington area, and subsequently arrested and charged with Assault while displaying a Dangerous Weapon.
