In person absentee voting begins in Des Moines County

Burlington, IA-  The Des Moines County Auditor’s office has announced that ballots have arrived for the November 2nd City/School Election.

In-person absentee voting at the Des Moines County Courthouse begins on Thursday, October 14th and ends on November 1st.  In-person Absentee voting can be done during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 4:30 PM.

The final day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Monday, October 18th at 5 PM.  Absentee request forms for ballots to be mailed can be printed from the Des Moines County website at www.dmcountyelections.iowa.gov or call the Auditor’s Office at 319-753-8232 to have a request form mailed.

An absentee ballot request form must be completed and signed and returned to the Auditor before a ballot can be mailed.

Mailed absentee ballots must be received in the County Auditor’s Office by November 2nd at 8:00 PM in order to be counted.
