Authorities cite multiple vehicles for parking on city snow routes

Burlington, IA-  Burlington police both cited and towed multiple vehicles for parking along city snow routes.

Burlington Police Sergeant Chad Zahn told the Burlington Beacon that 70 citations were issued to vehicles parked on City Snow routes, and 10 vehicles were towed Sunday, January 2nd.

Parking along snow routes is illegal when there is 2 inches or more of snow.  According to the national weather service, the Burlington area received 7.5 inches of snow on New Year’s Day.

Burlington Public Works canceled the snow emergency on Sunday, lifting the limits on parking along city snow routes.
