Burlington, IA- Burlington Mayor Jon Billups has been re-elected as mayor of the city.
At the City Council’s regular meeting on Monday, January 3rd, Billups was the only nominee for mayor of Burlington and was unanimously re-elected to another 2-year term as Mayor.
City Councilman Bill Maupin said that “I think Jon has done a good job the last two years, he loves this city, and I think he should continue as mayor.”
Mayor Pro Tem Lynda Graham-Murray said that Billups “has the pulse of the people.”
“He really has a firm pulse of the people, the citizens of Burlington, I think he has done a phenomenal job and he deserves to continue serving the capacity he has been doing,” Murray said.
Graham-Murray was also unanimously re-elected as Mayor Pro Tem.
