Burlington man arrested for arson

Burlington, IA-  The Burlington Police Department has announced the arrest of a Burlington man for arson.

According to a news release, at about 12:41 PM Wednesday, January 19th, 2022, the Burlington Police and Fire Departments responded to a reported house fire at a residence in the 200 block of Summer Street,

Upon the arrival, authorities located the house fully engulfed in fire.

While on the scene, officers identified the tenant as 38-year-old Joshua James Levins of Burlington, who was subsequently interviewed by detectives from the Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.

Levins was arrested for Second Degree Arson and Reckless Use of Fire.

Levins is being held at the Des Moines County Correctional Center on bond pending a court appearance.
